The intensity levels of music in the health clubs utilized in this study were sufficiently high to potentially endanger the residual hearing of participants over time. The participants surveyed (253 total) indicated that they participate in aerobics and body-conditioning classes for an average of three hours per week, with 28 percent indicating that they participate six or more hours a week. The instructors were also interviewed.

The average aerobics and body-conditioning instructor engaged in instruction from four to 10 hours per week. Upon asking whether they were aware tht the music in their classes may be damaging to their hearing, none were aware of what those intensity levels might be, or that their music may endanger the residual hearing of those in the aerobics rooms, including their own. Although many agreed that the music was “loud,” they said that it was intended to be so in order to motivate participants.

Summary

This study reveals that aerobics and body-conditioning classes that have as their intent the betterment of the health of the participants may also be inadvertently impairing the hearing of both the participants and the instructors.

It is therefore suggested that the intensity levels of music played for aerobics and body-conditioning classes in local health clubs and spas be measured and monitored on a routine basis, and either the intensity levels be reduced to non-damaging levels, or the participants and instructors be informed and encouraged to wear appropriate ear protection.

Tests/Work-up
Based on the doctor’s assessment and your responses to the questions above, you may be asked to submit to some routine tests. Common tests used to determine the source of a female fertility problem.
As A Man You Should Expect:
Here are some questions you can expect to be asked of the male partner on the first visit:
Age.
Have you ever fathered a child before?
Do you have a history of a testicular accident or getting hit in the groin?
Do you have a history of varicocele (a blockage of the veins around the testicle)?
Do you have a history of any findings/conditions in the pelvic area?
What do you do for a living?
Have you ever been subjected to hazardous chemicals that you know of?
Military history.
Have you ever taken steroids, used marijuana or cocaine?
Have you ever had a semen analysis or any previous sexual problems (i.e. erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation)?
Do you have diabetes or does anyone in your family?

Tests/Work-up
The primary tests that the male will get during the first visit are a urological exam and a semen analysis.

Urological exam
This is a physical exam of the pelvic area done by a urologist. The purpose of the exam is to check for any abnormalities such as varicoceles, which can interfere with sperm production or release.

Semen Analysis
A semen analysis is a simple test that is performed to assess the main 5 factors of sperm quality. The test can be performed at the doctor’s office or at home. It consists of the man producing a semen sample into a sterile container after 3-5 days of complete abstinence. The sample is then delivered to the laboratory where it must be examined within 2 hours after ejaculation in order to obtain the most accurate results. During the delivery process to the lab, the sperm must be kept warm. It is reasonable to repeat a semen analysis in several months to confirm any abnormal findings. Rarely should treatment be based on the results of only one analysis.

First of all, know that you are not alone. And, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Infertility affects 10% of the U.S. reproductive age population. It crosses all socioeconomic boundaries and cuts across all ethnic, racial and religious lines. When this period of trying to conceive is unsuccesful, it is recommended that the couple seek out a fertility specialist to undergo a comprehensive physical exam of the reproductive system. This exam is typically accompanied by a conversation in which your specialist will ask questions about your body and relevant questions about your sex life. This initial round of tests, physical examinations and questions are referred to as a Fertility Work-Up.

While the causes of infertility can be more varied in women, infertility is diagnosed in men roughly as often as it is in women. It is also not unheard of for both partners to be experiencing some form of infertility. In such a scenario, both partners need to undergo the appropriate therapy for pregnancy to result. It is therefore critical that a thorough Fertility Work-Up be completed for an accurate diagnosis.
As a Couple:
During your first visit, the following 4 basic questions will be investigated as part of a fertility work-up:
Do you have eggs?
Do you have sperm?
Can the egg & sperm get to one another?
Can your body sustain a pregnancy?
In order to determine the answers to these questions, both partners will be asked a series of questions. Then, each partner may be asked to submit to some routine tests or exams to further evaluate your fertility. It is generally necessary for both of you to have a work-up to ensure that any and all causes of infertility are identified.
As A Women You Should Expect:
Here are some questions you can expect will be asked on your first visit:
Do you have a family history of cancer of the reproductive organs?
When was your last Physical Exam – PAP Smear, breast exam, check blood pressure, ovaries and cervix.
Your age.
Gravida-how many times you have been pregnant.
How many living children you have.
TAB-Therapeutic abortions – how many have you had?
SAB-miscarriage or spontaneous abortions – how many have you had?
Are your cycles regular? This refers to the duration of your cycle. Does it occur every 28 days?
How many days of flow is your period? 5-7 days is normal.
Do you have pain with your periods?
Have you had previous pelvic infections like PID?
Have you had a previous IUD like copper 7 paraguard?
Have you ever been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome)?
Do you have a history of thyroid disease?
Have you been diagnosed with endometriosis?
Have you ever had a laparoscopy [when a scope is inserted through the belly button to visualize the reproductive organs; endometriosis or adhesions can be visualized with this procedure].
Have you ever had a hysteroscopy [when a scope is inserted through the cervix in order to visualize the uterus for polyps, fibroids or septum]?
Have you ever had a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) [when dye is injected through the cervix and into the fallopian tubes to see if they are open]?
Have you had a postcoital test? [A test that looks at a woman's cervical mucus 12 hours after intercourse. It checks for the survival of the sperm in the female cervix to assess if a woman has "hostile" mucus.]
How often do you and your partner have sex in a given week?
Are you a DES child 1947-1971? [Did your mother take diethylstilbestrol (DES) while she was pregnant with you?]
Have you ever had an ectopic pregnancy, diabetes, lupus, cancer therapy, pelvic surgery, rubella, asthma, multiple sclerosis, or chronic bladder infections?
Lifestyle & nutritional history – alcohol, smoking, drugs, caffeine, stress

When you’re suffering from impotency, erectile dysfunction, do not be depressed anymore, cause today you may order kamagra oral jelly that assist you maintain your excitation.

“Technology is moving so fast,” says Ivey, “that it’s hard to predict what clubs will be capable of. It is unlimited. Through technology, I see clubs working closer with doctors, hospitals and insurance companies, providing preventive health and consultation.

Also, with the advent of systems such as ASPs and member services, the workload of management, administration and accounting moves from the club owner/operator to outside sources, making more productive time available for decision-making and operations.”

Ivey also sees technology enabling multi-club memberships that “will allow members to travel at will and work out in reciprocating clubs anywhere in the world, at any time of the day.

Also, club members will be able to compare clubs online, viewing pictures or live video streams, selecting services, comparing rates and joining clubs, all from the comfort of their homes.”

A future goal for FISANA members is to work together to create a uniform platform for technology-based systems, according to Dinerman. “Some people are reluctant to invest in technology because they don’t know what or whom to believe about what will benefit their business. FISA wants the results of this survey to help facility operators fully examine their options and make better informed decisions,” he says

For smokers, there are also other properties in the smoke of tobacco, apart from nicotine, that may be addicting. Recent research has revealed that tobacco smoke (without nicotine) affects or reduces the levels of MAO A and B in the brain by about 40 percent. MAO A and B are chemicals in our brains that break down dopamine, our internal brain chemistry for pleasure. Thus, the concentration of dopamine in a smoker’s brain is increased, and smokers get additional pleasure from the tobacco smoke.

Until the 1980s, when the nicotine gum and patch were first made available by prescription, cold turkey was the only option for smokers when they wanted to quit. For many years after the nicotine gum and patches were available, most smokers still chose cold turkey because of the cost of using the nicotine replacement therapies, their side effects or the inconvenience of getting a prescription from a doctor to acquire them. Yet, the success rate for smokers who used the cold turkey method was very poor, with only 5 percent of smokers successfully staying tobacco-free for a year.

I recommend using the cold turkey method only if you smoke less than 10 cigarettes a day or use less than a half tin or package of smokeless tobacco per week. At this level of use, you are probably not addicted to nicotine, and, if you are, it is a mild addiction. Even with a mild nicotine addiction, you may be surprised to find how strong your attachment to the smoking or dipping habit is, and you may still need to use other strategies for stress management or behavior modification.

Cold turkey is no longer the quitting method chosen by most tobacco users, especially since the nicotine gum and patches are now available without a prescription and can be easily purchased over the counter in almost any pharmacy. Today, most successful tobacco users are combining a variety of strategies. Research has shown that increasing the number of strategies increases the probability of successfully quitting.

For heavily addicted tobacco users, the combination of using Zyban (an antidepressant, also sold as Wellbutrin, that is used in lower doses for smoking cessation) with a nicotine replacement therapy (like the nicotine patch, gum, inhaler or nasal spray) is showing to be effective 36 percent of the time. The use of medication helps to reduce the cravings for tobacco and gives the smoker or dipper time to practice new behaviors that will successfully replace old tobacco habits. If stress management, behavior modification, weight management and/or feeling management strategies are added to this combination, the success rate rises.

Tackling Tobacco Center has been designed to help you gather information about different types of strategies to help you reduce or quit your tobacco use.

Tobacco smokers borrowed the term “cold turkey” from heroin addicts to describe a method of quitting smoking without medication. Heroin addicts get “gooseflesh” or goose bumps when they withdraw from heroin without medication, and they have the appearance of a cold turkey, hence the slang term.

Goose bumps are not a common experience among smokers when they withdraw from nicotine. The term generally applies to a method of quitting any type of tobacco product in which the smoker or dipper stops using tobacco completely, without reducing, preparing or using medications to quit.

The cold turkey method can produce the most severe nicotine withdrawal symptoms, depending upon a smoker’s level of tobacco use. The physical symptoms of nicotine can include increased coughing and sputum production, fatigue, increased appetite, sweating, constipation or diarrhea, muscle aches, hypersensitivity to stimuli, headache, weight gain or sleep disturbances.

The psychological symptoms of nicotine may include decreased ability to tolerate stress, increased aggressive thoughts and behavior, irritability, anxiety, depression, restlessness, decreased sexual drive, intense tobacco cravings.

Generally, the most severe symptoms can last from a few days to three weeks after quitting, followed by a moderation of symptoms for three to six weeks, and a dramatic lessening of symptoms after three or four months.

Different levels of smoking produce different levels of nicotine addiction. Some guidelines to determine how addicted you may be to nicotine are:
You are probably not addicted to nicotine if you smoke less than 10 cigarettes per day or use less than half of a tin or package of smokeless tobacco per week.

You are probably mildly addicted to nicotine if you smoke between 10 to 15 cigarettes per day or use at least one-half to three-fourths of a tin or package of smokeless tobacco per week.

You are probably addicted to nicotine if you smoke more than 15 cigarettes per day or use one tin or package of smokeless tobacco per week.

You are probably heavily addicted to nicotine if you smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day or use more than two tins or packages per week.

If you experience four or more symptoms of nicotine withdrawal, you are probably heavily addicted. Other signs of heavy addiction to nicotine are if you have to use a tobacco product within 30 minutes after waking up, or if you continue to use even when you are sick.

I use the terms “probably” and “most likely” because each person has unique individual biochemical, psychological and sociological resilience and susceptibilities to various drugs and to drug addiction. The levels that I have cited here are meant to be guidelines. You should trust your personal experience and your intuition about how addicted you might be to nicotine and to the smoking habit.

You may select fast, easy, reliable way to economize your time and money. Our site recommend you original and fresh and cheap cigarettes online from our internet shop at low-cost price.

And thus ends the possibility.

What the hell is that?!

Clay and Brian return to much rejoicing. They bring a canteen of beer and a canteen of the shrimp soup. Penny continues trying to charm her way into the hearts of Chuay Gahn. She seductively says to Clay, “Come here big daddy” and causes him to feel uncomfortable, leaving him speechless for possibly the first time ever.

Once again Jan chugs the alcohol, “They don’t let me drink around my first graders.” Helen asks for the recipe. Brian continues to look increasingly more uncomfortable. Jake stands to the side, silently begging everyone to include him. And Ted gets a funny feeling.

Clay leaves camp to recoup from the Penny seduction and spots something strange in the water, “Hey guys, you wanna come a get a look at this? There’s something out there and it’s coming this way.”

Ted feels even funnier. Clay is ignored because Penny has decided the only way she can win the hearts of the other tribe is to kiss them. Jan says, “It felt kinda funny but I kinda liked it, too!”

“You guys, I’m serious! There’s really something out there,” Clay insists.

Ted says, “Umm… I don’t think we should bother with that.” Apparently Ted knows something. “Why don’t we all go take a piss in the cave. That would be fun, wouldn’t it?”

Closer still it gets. The strange sounds heard earlier return as the sun sets causing an eery gloom. The birds and the crickets fall silent. Monkeys scramble to the higher branches. Wildlife freezes in their last attempt to become invisible to the dreadful creature.

Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a man comes screaming onto the beach, “Get out of the water! Get out of the water!” It’s Chief Martin Brody!

“Wait a minute,” Helen says. “That don’t look like no shark. That looks like…”

“GASP!”

(You see, Chief Martin Brody was that guy in Jaws who everyone thought was crazy because he became paranoid about a giant shark. Get it?

And that first picture was of the Loch Ness monster. See? You’ve got to work with me or I totally crash and burn.)

One of the greatest challenges for a new facility may be establishing a strong membership base. But a strong promotional campaign at Health First Pro-Health & Fitness Center laid its worries to rest.

With an opening date of February 1, 1998, Health First kicked off a membership campaign on December 15, 1997. The $74,000 comprehensive campaign included brochures, c, a billboard, radio and print advertising, movie theater advertising, a VIP event and a community open house.

The center had three goals when it created the campaign: to support the company’s mission of providing wellness programming and education to the local community, to create a membership base that would meet the operating budget, and to promote the Healthplex concept of one-stop wellness shopping (fitness center, physician offices, and rehabilitation and diagnostic services).

The center’s program started with advertising that was intended to create excitement about the new facility. It included the slogan, “There’s some healthy excitement coming to Merritt Island.” Follow-up advertising was used solely to create a membership base. The print and radio campaigns were built around the holiday season and the idea that once holiday eating was over, people would need the new Pro-Health & Fitness Center to get back in shape.

Two events were held just prior to the February 1 opening. The first was a VIP open house that entertained more than 700 people. The next day, the community open house catered to more than 3,000 area residents who were curious to see the new facility. The attendance was so overwhelming that additional staff was called to handle the large number of members that were signing up.

The facility opened its doors with 1,134 members. By the end of six months, 6,392 people had joined the center, generating 25,000 visits each month. This number exceeded the visits at the company’s sister facility by 1,000. By the end of the six-month period, the center’s memberships and revenue had exceeded its two-year projections. What’s more, diagnostic, physician and rehabilitation visits had also exceeded expected numbers. These numbers put the center in the top 2 to 3 percent of the country for memberships at a hospital-based fitness center.

It’s time for you to think about whether or not you are ready for the challenge of quitting smoking. Answer these questions to see if you are ready.

Would you be willing to perhaps gain some weight in order to quit smoking for good?

Do you have at least one specific, personal reason to quit smoking?

Can you name at least one person who will be supportive of your efforts to quit?

Are your reasons to quit very important to you?

Are you willing to experience some discomfort in order to reach your purpose?

If you answered “yes” to at least two of the five questions above, you should definitely continue to move forward with your decision to quit smoking. The more “yes” responses you have to these questions, the better is your likelihood of successfully quitting.

If you answered “no” to four or more of these questions, right now may not be the best time for you to try and quit smoking. Give yourself some more time, and then answer these questions again in a few months. You may even want to talk with someone you know who has quit smoking to find out why he or she did it. Ask what they gained, and whether or not they believe it was worth the effort.

Start to think about someone who would be supportive of your efforts to quit smoking. Try to come up with a few personal reasons to quit. Some examples would be:

saving money

improved health

freedom from an addiction

fresher breath

cleaner teeth

fewer facial wrinkles

Quitting smoking is one of the biggest challenges you will ever face. Having good reasons to quit and a supportive environment are keys to making the process go smoothly.

“Our boys and young men are in moral crisis,” says Michael Gurian, a therapist and educator in Spokane, Wash.. “Like Huck Finn during his river journey, our boys are faced with constant moral confusion and guided by too little adult or elder supervision. Boys need more of the three basic building blocks of human compassion: emotional bonding with family and extended family, character education in all institutional settings and spiritual development from birth to adulthood.”

In his new book, “The Good Son” Gurian offers up a detailed cradle-to-college blueprint for raising good and ethical sons. It is based on his view that boys are wired differently than girls and require a very different tack in parenting. “The Good Son” contains concrete age-appropriate dos and don’ts and clear-cut rules to live by for toddlers, boys, teens and young adults and their caregivers. He includes specifics on hitting, chores, television, back-talking, curfews and respect.

“Males are primed for high-risk behavior more than females, for more physical aggression,” Gurian writes. “They naturally have less impulse control. Boys desperately want to be good sons — they don’t want to act out, become mean and be filled with rage and violence to the extent that we encourage them, as a culture, to be.”

In their book, “Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys” (Ballantine Books,,1999,$24.95) Dan Kindlon, Ph.D., and Michael Thompson, Ph.D., offer the view that boys are equally as capable as girls of developing healthy emotional skills, compassion, sensitivity and warmth but are culturally discouraged to do so. Kindlon and Thompson, both of Boston, Mass., identify the social and emotional challenges boys encounter and offer the tools to cultivate emotional awareness and empathy in boys.

“Boys’ emotional ignorance clearly imposes on others, too,” they write. “Lacking an emotional education, a boy meets the pressures of adolescence and that singularly cruel peer culture with the only responses he has learned and practiced — and that he knows are socially acceptable — the typically “manly” responses of anger, aggression and emotional withdrawal.”

Kindlon and Thompson offer these seven foundations of parenting, teaching and creating communities that respect and cultivate the inner life of boys — and the how tos to back them up:
Give boys permission to have an internal life, approval for the full range of human emotions and help in developing an emotional vocabulary so that they may better understand themselves and communicate more effectively with others.
Recognize and accept the high activity level of boys and give them safe boy places to express it.

Talk to boys in their language — in a way that honors their pride and their masculinity. Be direct with them, use them as consultants and problem solvers.

Teach boys that emotional courage is courage, and that courage and empathy are the sources of real strength in life
Use discipline to build character and conscience, not enemies.

Model a manhood of emotional attachment.
Teach boys that there are many ways to be a man.

“In all our years as therapists, we have never met a boy who didn’t crave his parents’ love and others’ acceptance and who didn’t feel crippled by their absence or redeemed by their abundance,” write Kindlon and Thompson. “Strong and healthy boys are made strong by acceptance and affirmation of their humanity. We all have a chance to do that every day, every time we are in the presence of a boy and we have a chance to say to him, “I recognize you. You are a boy — full of life, full of dreams, full of feeling.”
